Katto gives an AI assistant the ability to turn a long video into short vertical clips, without a browser and without a file ever touching the agent.
Connect the hosted MCP server at https://mcp.katto.tech/mcp and the assistant gets 16 tools over OAuth 2.1: submit a YouTube, Twitch, Vimeo or Rumble link, poll the job, read the transcript, list and fetch the finished clips, re-render one with different framing or captions, dub it into another language, check the remaining quota. No API key to paste and no package to install: the client opens a consent page on the first call.
Each clip comes back scored on hook, flow, value and trend, with a written reason, so the agent can decide which ones are worth posting instead of handing back everything.
Typical use: an agent watches a channel, clips every new episode, and schedules the best three. Quota is counted in videos, not in credits or source minutes, so a three hour recording costs the same as a ten minute one, and the API draws from the same monthly count as the app.
Free plan: 2 videos a month, no card. A local alternative exists for key-based setups: npx katto-mcp.
